The design and specification process for the building's superstructure adheres to established methods and practices, applicable to both competitive bidding and design-build procurement.
A licensed professional engineer is retained to design the superstructure according to standard industry practices.
The superstructure design complies with typical AISC steel design guidelines, including resistance to lateral loads.
Steel fabricators can supply the entire steel frame superstructure package, which includes all components of the SGBS Intl. (SMART GREEN BUILDING SYSTEMS).
The ENVIROBEAM® is produced from a standard rolled wide flange section and flat bar. Steel fabricators may fabricate the ENVIROBEAM® themselves or outsource the fabrication process.
The steel erector is responsible for the assembly and erection of the entire steel and precast superstructure.
Commonly used precast, prestressed hollow core slabs are available from a wide range of precast manufacturers.
